Bringing the carnival theme to this year’s festival celebration is the Australian Street Entertainment Championships. Held over four days, clowns, mimes, magicians, jugglers, dancers and performers will take to stages across Surfers Paradise in a carnival of light and laughter – as they vie for the crowd’s attention.
Based around four stages, each zone will buzz with colour and activity as competing street entertainers act the clown or weave their magic to beguile. Knowing their audience might wander off at any moment, these artisans of the showbiz coalface put it all on the line to dazzle, intrigue and amaze. Make sure you come down and check out each one!
Join in the fun and vote for your favourite act in the People’s Choice Award, as they will compete to be crowned the 2014 Australian Street Entertainment Champion and perform in the Grand Finale Show 4pm – 7pm.

The Globe of Death - Aerial Angels
Watch when 2 expert stunt motorcyclists risk their lives riding in The Globe of Death. This heart stopping and addictive performance act will astound you as the performers demonstrate their skills and tricks which will have you on the edge of your seat.
As a part of the Aerial Angels, this team of professionals have over 25 years of experience and known locally and abroad as world-class performers.
Performing three times each day throughout the event, there will be plenty of chances to catch this great act.
Clown Loto promises to bring with him all the pent-up, madcap and creative energy it takes to clown around with local audiences and be just as successful as he is in Japan. His gentle art has a stylish Japanese flavour to it and he is spectacularly magical with flowers, they literally appear, disappear and change colour before your very eyes. He is an accomplished juggler and a mesmerising mime. Be it acrobatics, ballooning, clowning or doing plain ole’ stuff, this boy will have you laughing from start to finish.
Street Dance United, performing with the mobile Red Bull DJ Booth
Street Dance United is a unique collaboration of professional Hip-Hop/ Street Dancers from all different backgrounds, brought together for the common interest and love for Hip-Hop and street dance.
More than just a group of performers that can seriously dance, S.D.U combine an originality and creativity that make them unique and stand out. Each crew member has trained in the deeper Foundation Styles of Hip Hop / Street Dance as well as adapting to the forever evolving ‘Nu-Style’ of Hip Hop & the Commercial Urban Choreography. With unique styles, training and technique, these performers are one of a kind, and will be sure to deliver a feel good, charismatic and engaging show every time.
Can you get out of your trousers while balancing on a unicycle? Yes! Ina does all what seems to be impossible and keeps you entertained until she closes the show with an amazing fire-trick on the unicycle!
Ina is a professional German circus artist with more than 18 years of performance experience. She began her remarkable career at a young age, and perfected her circus skills at the Dutch Circus School Codarts. Ina has miraculously, managed to squeeze all this experience, and skill into one 30 minute action-packed circus extravaganza – The Bikerina Show!

Armed with a suitcase full of surprises, an insanely huge unicycle, and a wacky sense of humour – Mr Qwirk POP! will leave you dumbfounded, and asking yourself…… what just happened?
Entergy Entertainments- The Fire Master
Neal Webb director of Energy Entertainments has been performing fire shows around the globe for the past 10 years. His shows and collaborations have been performed in the UK, Ibiza – Spain, France, Switzerland, Ireland, Holland, Brussels, India, Philippines, Thailand, New Zealand and are now exploding around Australia.
By combining Kung Fu, dance, gymnastics and fire Neal Webb offers a very unique show that’s not to be missed. Using fire swords, Staffs and other various equipment he has no problems insuring an entertaining show for all ages.
Dr Rhythm is well known for his numerous performances including co-host of ABC3’s children’s show ‘What do you know?’, hero role in a string of Peters Ice Cream commercials on Channel [V], stand out act on Australia’s Got Talent 2008, London Beat Box Champ 2006, plus more. Dr Rhythm has a reputation for being the man that can and will do anything – so trying to pigeonhole exactly what he can do is tricky, because he does it all! He blazes any stage or event, with hype to last for days.
Everybody’s favourite suburban stuntman, Epic Darren, performs a mix of comedy and “Epic” stunts. Inspired by stuntmen like Evel Knievel, James Bond & Chuck Norris, come and join “Epic” Darren Hardman in his quest to have his name up in lights with the legends of stunt-ology. Darren performs his stunt show on a 49cc pocket rocket motorcycle. Just like a Hollywood Blockbuster, Epic Darren performs motor cross stunts on the floor, over a seesaw and under various obstacles.
Having run away from Canterbury Law School, Mr Wizowski now travels the world unleashing a whirlwind of hilarious mayhem where ever he goes. Combining his trademark comic timing with crazy stunts , Mr Wizowski often ends up succeeding despite himself. Whether it’s juggling knives or balancing on rolling pipes, Mr Wizowski is sure to do something to risk his life for your entertainment.
