To celebrate this cornerstone of cultural identity, Surfers Paradise is throwing a big beachside bash, to show you exactly what can be done with a hot grill & a bit of Aussie cooking ingenuity.

The great aussie bbq is hosted by the masters of the sausage sizzle, the gurus of the grill, 2 Chefs TV (from the Foxtel & Austar Networks), who have elevated the act of having a simple BBQ to an art form. They'll be cooking up a storm with live demonstrations incorporating prime meats, seafood, veggies & other quality local produce. And given our fantastically diverse multicultural society in which we all now live & embrace, the great aussie bbq will incorporate BBQ'd delicacies for you to sample from around the globe - think Korean, Greek, Japanese, Mongolian & others.

Aussie tribute bands & artists will perform on stage, market stalls will be scattered throughout the park, an Aussie Bar set up under the beachside trees & backyard cricket throughout the afternoon - six & out over the fence! Finishing with a beach fireworks spectacular for you, the great aussie bbq's gonna GO OFF! like Ricky Ponting at the Boxing Day Test! It's damn right un-Australian for you to miss it.
